CHRISTMAS IN THE CITY 03/12/2008 – 04/12/2008
- 7.30pm: Albert Hall, Concert Hall North Circus Street, Nottingham
- Christmas in the City – Nottingham’s Schools, Area bands, Youth Choir, Music School and Brassert Big Band give two festive concerts; on the Wednesday local schools and primary and intermediate bands perform, and Thursday our senior esesbles. Both aim to raise money for Oxfam, as part of the Oxfam Music Festival.
- Tickets: £5 (£3 concessions) with £1 from every ticket being donated to Oxfam.

Bulwell Library – Drop in any time between 9am and 1pm to make your own Christmas cards, make baubles to decorate your tree, listen to Christmas stories and write your letter to Santa and drop it in Santa’s postbox. CHRISTMAS AT BREWHOUSE YARD 06/12/2008
- 10.00 – 16.30: The Museum of Nottingham Life at Brewhouse Yard, Castle Boulevard, Nottingham
- Escape the hustle and bustle of the shopping frenzy and take time out to enjoy Christmas at Brewhouse yard. The museum is a delight to see with twinkling lights and festive decorations. Santa and Mrs Claus are making their appearance for the ‘big day’ and visitors are invited to give them a hand and have a go at some ‘make and take’ activities. Refreshments will be available and children should be accompanied by an adult.

SANTA AT THE CASTLE BANDSTAND 07/12/2008 – 14/12/2008
- 14.00 - 16.00: Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Off Maid Marian Way, Nottingham
- Santa at the Castle Bandstand – Dont miss this opportunity to meet Santa and his lucky elf Sparkle. He’s made time to stop off at the Castle Bandstand and wants to hear the festive wishes of Nottingham’s children. The events will take place on the 7, 13 and 14 of December.
- Admission: £3.50 per child. Normal museum admissions apply to accompnying adults.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL 08/12/2008 – 13/12/2008
- 7.30pm (2.30pm Matinee): The Lace Market Theatre, Halifax Place, Nottingham
- Ghosts rattle their chains, miserly Ebenezer undergoes a nocturnal transformation. the goose is cooked and Tiny Tim gets his pudding! God bless us, every one! An ideal introduction to Dickens for young people. Evening shows end at 9.30pm so not too late a night for them.

- Once again Newstead Abbey will play host to the wonderful Magdala Choir’s Christmas concerts. The great hall will be filled with their exquisite voices, providing stunning entertainment for teh audience and starting christmas week off in true style.
